MNRB Holdings embarks on Digital Transformation and Service Connectivity journey using Kong Enterprise API Gateway

MNRB Holdings Bhd (MNRB) won the Insurtech-Financial Technology Award at the recent Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2022 through its sub-brand, GO by Takaful IKHLAS.

The company said GO by Takaful IKHLAS was built as a sub-brand to serve agents, partners, and customers.



It has five functions – GO Partner to enable digital agents; GO Serve for online customer/agent services, including claims management and pay-out; GO Direct to select and purchase takaful certificates online; GO Connect, an open API platform for partner integration; and GO Financial, a takaful sales and support platform.



GO Connect powered by Kong Enterprise API Gateway provided the open API platform to enable digital transformation at MNRB.



“This win is a testimony to the group’s quest in building a digital ecosystem to connect their takaful services in Malaysia,” said MNRB in a statement.



Senior vice-president and group chief strategy officer of MNRB Rizal Mohd Zin said GO by Takaful IKHLAS was inspired by looking at how it could enable innovation and be future-ready and decided that opening a sub-brand to champion the ecosystem was a way to move forward.



“As we were coming up with the ideas behind this, we also needed a way to consolidate our existing offerings and offer new ones in a completely digital manner,” he said. “That challenge was where we started from, and it helped guide the concept to completion.”


The group recognizes that technologies will continue to power innovation and this award is an inspiration for MNRB to continue to develop better takaful experiences for agents, partners, and customers in Malaysia.



Rizal said the GO Digital Ecosystem will continue to improve and he hopes this will provide a strong foundation for its future, advanced services.
